A century of Hellenism in Brooklyn. AHEPA Brooklyn Chapter 41 marked its centennial in 2025 — one hundred years as a cornerstone of the borough’s Hellenic community, dedicated to the ideals of education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, and individual excellence.
Founded in the 1920s, in the same era the Order of AHEPA itself was established in Atlanta (1922), Chapter 41 has organized generations of community events, fundraisers, cultural celebrations, and educational programs that strengthened the bonds between Greek Americans in Brooklyn and the broader New York community.
From supporting local Greek Orthodox parishes to awarding scholarships to Brooklyn students, Chapter 41 has remained a vital pillar of Hellenic life in New York City. Our members have included civic leaders, business owners, educators, and dedicated community servants who carry forward the AHEPA mission.
Milestones
1922
The Order of AHEPA is founded in Atlanta, Georgia. Within a few years, Greek Americans in Brooklyn organize what becomes Chapter 41.
A Century of Service
Through the decades, Chapter 41 supports Greek Orthodox parishes across Brooklyn, awards scholarships to local students, and its annual Greek Community Golf Outing grows into a tradition that has distributed more than $650,000 to communities and students across the borough.
2025 — Centennial
Chapter 41 marks 100 years with a memorial service at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine at the World Trade Center, honoring deceased brothers and celebrating a century in Brooklyn.
2026
At the Spring Awakening, Chapter 41 announces a $25,000 pledge toward the new Saint Michael’s Home — the first AHEPA chapter to receive such recognition — continuing a second century of service.
